Potain was founded in 1928 in La Clayette (FR) by Faustin Potain. The first crane is built between 1930 and 1935. In 1958 are the first tower cranes exported to England, Germany and the Netherlands. In 2001 the 100 000st product was made, and also in this year Potain as added in the Manitowoc Crane Group. Nowadays ist Potain the largest European tower crane manufacturer with multiple factories spread over the world.
