This is the second Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 that Moh Seng from Singapore (SG) is deploying. The crane's year of manufacture is 2011 and the crane is still in the older livery of Moh Seng with the yellow colors.
In transit is the crane 21.4 meters long, 3 meters wide and 4 meters tall. The transport mass is approx. 125 tonnes in the configuration with 84 meter main boom and YSL guying system.
The crane has a 7-part main boom with a 16.1 meter base length that extends to a full length of 84 meters. The main boom can be extended by a 63 meter fixed jib or a 91 meter luffing jib.
The 8-axle undercarriage is powered by a Liebherr D9508 A7, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 500 kW (680 hp). The axles 1, 2, 4 and 5 are powered and the axles 1 to 4, 7 and 8 are steerable.
The outrigger base of the crane measures 10 x 9.6 meters, or half 10 x 6.25 meters. A sharp detail on the LTM 1500(-8.1) are the luffing cylinders that are installed diagonally next to the main boom. This is required because the boom isn't stored horizontally on the undercarriage, but is pointing a little bit downwards.
The cabin on the superstructure slews during the transport over the road behind the superstructure. During crane operation is here hanging maximum 165 tonnes of counterweight.
The superstructure of the crane is powered by a Liebherr D936L A6, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 240 kW (325 hp). The diesel engine powers in total four hydraulic pumps.
Here is the crane entering the construction site.
Some moments later was the crane installed on the storage yard, some smaller tunnel boring machines (TBM) had to be unloaded here for storage. The first part was deliverd by the Scania R 730 of Hup Hin with a 10-axle trailer. The first TBM weights 93 tonnes.
The main boom is extended here to a length of 26.5 meters.
Here was the crane fitted with 135 tonnes of counterweight.
For some smaller and ligther components was the main boom extended to a length of 36.9 meters.
The next heavy element was deliverd by the Scania R 420 of Hup Hin. This piece has a mass of 84 tonnes. The mainboom was retrackted to a length of 31.7 meters.
The last and heaviest piece was deliverd by the MAN TGX 41.680 of Hup Hin with a 10-axle trailer. This piece has a mass of 96 tonnes.
Some weeks later I found the crane again, here it was lifting some loads onto the roof of a data centre.
The crane was fitted here in TY3N configuration, the guyed main boom is 57.7 meters long and the luffing jib is 28 meters long. Attached to the superstructure is a 165 tonne counterweight. A very sharp crane of Moh Seng!
