This sharp Grove GMK5250L of Paule from Stuttgart (DE) was used by the loading of a steam locomotive together with a Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 in Göppingen (DE). It is the largest crane that is deployed at the moment by Paule, in the past was that a Liebherr LTM 1400-7.1.
It is a 250 tonne crane with year of manufacture 2016. The undercarriage is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 471 LA, a 12.8 liter, 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 390 kW (530 hp). The axles 2, 4 and 5 are powered, all axles are steerable.
The outrigger base measures 8.95 x 7.8 meters, or half 8.95 x 5.91 meters.
Here was the crane fitted with 50 tonnes of counterweight, that has a 5.2 meter tailswing. The full counterweight of the crane is 80 tonnes.
The crane has a 7-part main boom with a 13.2 meter base length and extends six times to a maximum length of 70 meters. The crane can geometrically bring its 12.5 or 21.3 meter bi-fold swingaway jib, that jib can be extended to maximum 37.3 meters. The jib is adjustable by hydraulics against the main boom, the angle is adjustable between 5 and 50 degrees.
Here is the main boom 23.6 meters long. In this configuration is the crane able, depending on the amount of falls, to lift 134 tonnes at 4 meter radius or 22 tonnes onto a 20 meter radius. Here is the crane working with an 80-tonne hook with three pullies.
This is the standard ballast trailer that is following the crane, a material container, 26 tonnes of counterweight and a couple of outrigger pads are transported with it.
In transit is the crane 15.3 meters long, 3 meters wide and 3.95 meters tall. The transport mass of the crane is 60 tonnes.
At the rear of the chassis is a box mounted with outrigger woods and some rigging.
A very sharp crane of Paule!
