This sharp Grove GMK5220 of Keller Bauunternehmung AG from Rheineck (CH) is their largest mobile crane in the fleet. It is a 220-tonns crane mounted on a 5-axle carrier. The crane stood on a construction site in Oberriet (CH), where I could see Keller's Grove GMK5130-2 also.
The crane carrier is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 420 kW (571 hp). This crane has the optional 10x8x10-drive line, where the axles two to five are driven and all axles are steerable.
In transit is the crane about 15.5 meters long, 3 meters wide and 4 meters tall. The transport mass is approx. 60 tonnes.
The outrigger base measurers 8.56 x 8.1 meters, or half 8.56 x 5.69 meters.
At the rear of the chassis is a box with spreader woods mounted, in the hilly area is this often required to compensate the height differences between the crane and outrigger pads.
Here was the crane fitted with the full counterweight of 77 tonnes, the counterweight has a 5.3 meter tailswing.
The 7-part main boom has a 13.3 meter base length and extends six times to a full length of 68 meters. The main boom is here 31.7 meters long. Optionally a maximum 37 meter long bi-fold swingaway jib can be mounted to the main boom.
A very sharp crane by Keller! They are also deploying a Liebherr LTM 1030-2.1.
