Mammoet from Schiedam (NL) was using this interesting FAUN HK 70 on 5-axle Mercedes-Benz Actros undercarriage as assist crane with the Liebherr LR 1750. It is a crane in the 70 tonne class with a maximum lifting capacity of 54.7 tonnes. Mammoet was deploying in total 10 units of this crane type.
The crane is installed onto a Mercedes-Benz Actros 5446 chassis with 10x4-drive line. The base was an Actros 4146 chassis with 8x4-drive line, where a fifth non-driven axle was added to. The truck is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 501 LA, an 11.9-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 335 kW (456 hp).
The K-shapped outrigger base measures 6.73 x 6.28 meters. During the transport over the road are the front outriggers retrackted and rotated by about 120 degrees rearwards.
At the rear of the chassis is a frame mounted for the larger steel outrigger pads. Smaller, round plastic pads are also stored on a rack at the back.
The full counterweight weights 15.2 tonnes and has a 3.45 meter tailswing.
In transit is the crane 12.46 meters long, 2.55 meters wide and 4 meters tall. The transport mass is approx. 54 tonnes.
This steerable 12-tonne axle was attached to the standard 8x4-chassis by Paul Nutzfahrzeuge.
The 5-part main boom has an 11 meter base length and extends four times to a full length of 44 meters. The bi-fold swingaway jib with a length of 9 - 16 meters could be installed to the main boom under an angle of 0, 20 or 40 degrees. A maximum lifting height of approx. 58 meters can be achieved then.
