Shifting of a drum by Bok Seng

For the relocation of a heavy static MBS M820 drum, Bok Seng from Singapore (SG) deployed heavy equipment. At the former location, this Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 was set up.

The large 7-sheave 171.1-tonne lifting hook is reeved with a total of 10 falls. This promises heavy lifting work!

The LTM 1500-8.1 is shown here set up with 75 tonnes of ballast. The main boom is extended to a length of 26.5 metres.

The drum has been slung, lifting can begin!

The drum has a weight of 84 tonnes and is picked up at a radius of 8.6 metres.

The crane will slew a quarter turn to the right to load the drum onto the waiting axle lines.

At a radius of approximately 10 metres, the drum is placed onto the axle lines.

The load is 14.4 metres long, 3.83 metres wide and 3.9 metres high. This drum is used primarily to screen large stones from soil.

The combination is hauled by the Scania 164 G 580. The drum is loaded onto a 10-axle Scheuerle K25 trailer.

Due to its dimensions, the transport is only permitted to use the road at night; a wait of several hours is required.

Approximately five hours later, the transport begins to roll.

This combination is 27.5 metres long and 5 metres high.

Here, the transport has arrived at the new location.

Here, the Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 of Bok Seng is set up.

Together with a Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 of Bok Seng.

The LTM 1200-5.1 is set up with the full ballast of 72 tonnes.

The combination remains on the (closed) public road to be unloaded. The combination cannot enter the new location.

The LTM 1200-5.1 has the main boom extended here to a length of 35.8 metres. This crane is now lifting 43.6 tonnes at a radius of 13.2 metres. The LTM 1350-6.1 has the main boom extended to a length of 35.2 metres and is lifting 48.4 tonnes at a radius of 17.4 metres. These lifting capacities include the weight of the hook and rigging.

Relatively quickly, the drum is positioned between the cranes and will be temporarily stored here.

The LTM 1350-6.1 was set up here with 100 tonnes of ballast. A fine lifting operation carried out by Bok Seng!
