Installation of a bridge by Bok Seng

For the installation of a new pedestrian overhead bridge (POB) in Singapore (SG) was Bok Seng deploying the required equipment. Two large combinations are loaded and prepared for transport with two prefabricated concrete beams from the production site to the construction site. These photos are taken at approx. 11:30 PM.

The first combination exists out of a Scania R 620 with two towed 6-axle modules.

The second combination exists out of a MAN TGS 41.540 with two 6-axle modules. Both combinations are loaded with identical cargo, a bridge beam with a 32.5 meter length, a 3.025 meter width and a 1.3 meter height. The mass of the cargo is 127.89 tonnes.

Some moments later, it is about 01:00 AM, the first crane, the Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1, arrives at the construction site.

Also both combinations arrive at the site after a journey of approx. 30 kilometers. It is about 01:20 AM now.

The second crane is a Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 of Bok Seng.

With large speed are both cranes set up and is the rigging prepared for the lifting job, it is about 03:20 AM now.

The first beam is picked up from the combination and positioned between the two cranes. The LTM 1500-8.1 has the main boom extended to a 31.7 meter length and the LTM 1750-9.1 to a length of 32.7 meters.

Both cranes are lifting a mass of approx. 67 tonnes here, that exists out of the cargo, rigging and hook. The 500 tonner gives approx. 17 meter radius and the 750 tonnes about 15 meters.

The LTM 1750-9.1 is fitted with 84 tonnes of counterweight.

The LTM 1500-8.1 is fitted with 135 tonnes of counterweight.

Relative quick is the first beam positioned on top of the bearings, it is about 03:50 AM now.

The second beam will be picked up rapidly.

At about 04:15 AM is the second beam mounted and the cranes can be dismantled again. A sharp and impressive job by Bok Seng!
