This is the second MAN TGS 40.540 of Bok Seng, that was used together with the Scania R 620 to transport heavy cable reels to the port.
The vehicles are almost identical. They are used with all kinds of trailers. This truck was attached to a 10-axle Scheuerle K25 platform trailer.
After the combination had left the yard is the trailer leveled.
The truck is powered by a MAN D2676, a 12.4-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 397 kW (540 hp). The truck has a reinforced bumper to push or brake transports from behind, but in praxis this is not happinging very often. The truck is admited for transports up to 250 tonnes.
On the driver's side are behind the front axle the Euro 5 muffler, the large diesel tank and the AdBlue tank installed.
The truck has a wheel base of 3.9 + 1.4 meters. In the large opening behind the front axle are the battery, compressed-air tanks and a diesel tank installed.
The ballast box has a self-weight of 5 tonnes and is loaded with a 10-tonne counterweight block.
The combination is loaded with two cable reels with each a mass of approx. 65 tonnes, the cable reels would be transported to the port.
Both combination are due to their mass and dimensions escorted by the Auxilairy Police.
Here are both MAN TGS 40.540 of Bok Seng used for a large transport in the night. Photos of the other transport are here visible.
This combination is so huge that the turn to the left (on the photo at the right side) can't be taken directly. Therefore is the transport first moving forward.
Then the combination will take a reverse turn to the right (on the photo to the left side).
The cargo is a cold box, the cargo is 38.1 meters long, 4.7 meters wide and 4.15 meters tall. The mass is 150 tonnes.
The transport will now drive forward for a few kilometers.
The cargo will be stored for a few days on Bok Seng's yard. Because of the length of the combination is it required to drive in reverse at the last road.
Arrival on Bok Seng's yard.
A few days later was this sharp MAN used to deliver a large turbine on a 10-axle trailer to a shipyard. A sharp combination of Bok Seng!
