Transport of reactors by Bok Seng

On December 8 was it time for the second large transport, this is a heat treatment reactor with a length of 28.19 meters, a 7.6 meter width and 8.4 meter height.

The total weight of the cargo inclusing the transport frames is 145.79 tonnes. Bok Seng was this time using a double 20-axle Scheuerle SPMT.

The first obstacle was a narrow road caused by a traffic island and a busstop, the transport is driving here against the normal traffic flow.

Where the previous transport had to go straight, is this transport allowed to take a left turn and drive directly to the construction site because the axle loadings are low enough to drive over this road.

The Auxiliary Police is closing all side roads to the main road, so that the transport can drive without stopping to the construction site.

In front of the construction site is the lane changed, the transport is driving here against the normal traffic direction.

Where the previous transport came from the other side of this junction and required a temporary ramp to cross the traffic island, is this transport able to take a direct right turn.

Within one hour has the transport reached the construction site, the distance was only 2.6 km.

The third transport was driven on December 17. Here is the transport waiting in front of the port entrance. This time it is a single 24-axle Scheuerle SPMT.

The cargo now is an isomerization reactor with a 45.95 meter length, a 5.2 meter width and 5.39 meter height. Because the weight of the cargo including transport frames is 276.63 tonnes, is this transport also required to make the detour like the first transport. The transport has reached the first junction, the transport will need to make a left turn (on the photo to the right), but need to cross the junction first because the turn can't be made in once.

Then the transport will in 'reverse' make a turn to the right to continue the trip over the main road.

The transport is driving in the middle of a double 3-lane road to reduce the hindrance for other traffic to the minimum. Junctions which are crossed are temporary blocked by the Auxiliary Police.

After a long straight forward road is the transport turning into the right...

... to continue the trip in the other driving direction.

But against the normal traffic direction because this will help on the next junction.

At the next junction is the road crossed at first...

... to make the turn to the right.

The construction site is nearly reached. On the last large junction is the transport switching lane again to cross the traffic island and move into the street on the right.

Also this transport was performed succesfully, the distance of 8.6 km was driven in nearly 2 hours. Fantastic to see these kind of transports on the public road!
