This impressive Scania R 500 belonged to Van Elk from Haarlem (NL), a company that was taken over in 2009 by Van Santen, also from Haarlem. The truck was primarily operated in combination with an 8-axle Faymonville lowloader. This combination was put into service in 2008.

The truck is this impressive Scania R 500 with 8x4 drive. Both rear axles are powered by a Scania DC16, a 15.6-litre V8 diesel engine with an output of 368 kW (500 hp).

Behind the front axle on this side, the exhaust silencer and the AdBlue tank are mounted. The second axle is liftable and is only lowered when transporting heavy loads. The truck has an unladen weight of approximately 11.4 tonnes and is permitted to weigh a maximum of 41 tonnes including fifth-wheel load.

The 8-axle Faymonville PendelMAX semi-trailer consists of a 3-axle dolly coupled to a 5-axle low-loader. It is not possible to couple the gooseneck directly to the Scania.

A large diesel tank is mounted behind the cab.

The load is the base machine of a Sennebogen 6100 XPD operated by BAM Grondtechniek. It was to be transported to a piling project in the Eemshaven (NL).

An impressive combination!

Here, the impressive Scania R 500 was used to transport the base machine of a very heavy demolition machine from the manufacturer in Hoorn (NL) to the port of Den Helder (NL).

The combination was briefly posed at a storage yard near the port of Den Helder (NL).

The load is the base machine of a Rusch Triple 34-25 demolition machine. This unique demolition machine was developed from the base of a Caterpillar 5130. The base machine weighs approximately 75 tonnes. The load is 13 metres long, 3.93 metres wide, and 4.1 metres high.

A very impressive combination with a special load!
