The Lindel company from Berg-Kasernen (DE) was using this sharp Mercedes-Benz Actros 2654 to transport wooden roof beams.
The truck is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, a 15.9 liter 8-cylinder diesel engine with 537 hp. Both rear axles are driven.
The truck has an extended and reinforced chassis because it can be equipped with a lorry crane also. This truck is also often used to transport stems and those stems are loaded and unloaded by the lorry crane.
Behind the front axle are the muffler, battery, compressed-air tanks and storage compartments made.
Lindel is also owning a newer Actros 2655.
The cargo is loaded onto a transport frame that is fitted onto the fifth wheel. Behind the front axle are the hydraulic oil tank and fuel tank made. Below the storage box behind the cabin is the oil cooler visible.
The other side of the cargo is loaded onto a 3-axle Welte dolly. The front axle of the dolly is steerable. The beams have length of approx. 32 meters.
The truck and dolly are connected to each other by a steel cable to keep the distance between them fix.
A sharp combination of the small company that is mainly doing special transports with a dolly.
With the police escort can the combination start to drive after 7.00 PM towards the construction site.
