For the transport of a heavy transformer in Oberottmarshausen (DE) was Daher from Leese (DE) deploying this sharp Mercedes-Benz Actros 4153. The combination was waiting here until the permit allows the transport the roll.
It is a 4-axle truck that is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, a 15.9-liter V8 diesel engine with a power of 390 kW (530 hp). The truck has a reinforced bumper so that the truck can also push an brake such transports.
In the tower behind the cabin are the large diesel tank, hydraulic oil tank, multiple compressed-air tanks and a large cooler for the WSK400 torque converter. The equipment tower is covered on both sides for protection, because Daher is also performing some transports which aren't highly appreciated by some enviromental organisations.
On top of the rear axles is the ballast box installed to bring the total weight of the truck at approx. 41 tonnes. Below the ballast box are outriggers made to attach and remove the box without use of a crane.
Attached is a 20-axle Scheuerle modular trailer with a Greiner transformer bridge.
The support arms are adjustable in length and width.
The Siemens transformer is 10.25 meters long, 3.32 meters wide and 4.725 meters tall. The transport mass is 235 tonnes.
On the other side of the combination was the Mercedes-Benz Actros 4165 attached! Photos of the transport can be seen here.
