Van Schie from Mijdrecht (NL) operated this interesting DAF XF 95.530; the truck was seen here hauling a 3-axle low-loader.
The 4-axle truck with 8x4 drive is powered by a PACCAR XE 390 C, a 12.6-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 390 kW (530 hp). Both rear axles are driven, while the two front axles are steerable.
The large diesel fuel tank is mounted behind the front axle.
The roof of the cab has been lowered to allow long loads, such as crane booms or the leader of a piling rig, to be transported over the cab. Large storage boxes are mounted behind the cab.
Here the truck was hauling a 3-axle Nooteboom low-loader, suitable for loads of up to 44 tons. A fine combination from Jan van Schie; this combination is no longer operated by them and has been replaced by a 5-axle Volvo with a 4-axle low-loader.
