This sharp Terex Challenger 3180 belongs to Toggenburger who is operating the crane from their branch in Bern (CH). Here was the crane used by the erection of wooden profiles for a new building. It is a 3-axle crane in the 60-tonne class.
The 3-axle undercarriage is powered by a Mercedes-Benz diesel engine with a power of 240 kW (326 hp). This crane has the optional 6x6x6-drive line where all axles are driven and steerable.
The outrigger base of the crane measures 6.9 x 6.5 meters, or half 6.9 x 4.5 meters.
In transit is the crane 11.67 meters long, 2.55 meters wide and 3.66 meters tall. The transport mass is approx. 36 tonnes.
Here was the crane working with the full counterweight of 12.2 tonnes, the counterweight has a 3.59 meter tailswing.
The crane has a 6-part main boom with a 10.4 meter base length and a maximum length of 50 meters. Optionally is the main boom extendable with a 9 / 16 meter long bi-fold swingaway jib. The crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 39.5 tonnes, this is limited by the three pullies in the main boom head.
At the rear of the chassis is a large box for spreading wood installed.
The main boom was extended here to a length of 41.9 meters. In this configuration is the crane able to lift 10 tonnes on an 8 meter radius or 1.4 tonnes on a 38 meter radius. A very sharp crane by Toggenburger! Today is this crane sold as Tadano AC 3.060-1.
