This sharp Terex AC 250-1 of Tiong Woon from Singapore (SG) was used on a saturday morning to unload containers. It is a 250-tonne crane mounted on a 6-axle carrier.
The 6-axle carrier is powered by a Mercedes-Benz diesel engine with a power of 440 kW (598 hp). The axles 2, 4, 5 and 6 are powered, the axles 1 to 3, 5 and 6 are steerable.
The outrigger base measures 8.7 x 8.5 meters, or half 8.7 x 5.54 meters.
Attached to the superstructure is 15 tonnes of counterweight, that is the maximum counterweight that geometrically fits on the carrier. The full counterweight is 96.6 tonnes and has a 5.6 meter tailswing.
The superstructure is powered by a Mercedes-Benz diesel engine with a power of 210 kW (286 hp). The crane is able to move all movements at the same time.
The 7-part main boom has a 14.5 meter base length and extends six times to a maximum length of 80 meters. Next to the main boom is hanging a 10.4 - 20 meter long bi-fold swingaway jib that is adjustable between 0 and 40 degrees with hydraulic cylinders. The maximum hook height is this configuration is about 95 meters!
Here was the main boom only 33.7 meters extended, the crane was used to hoist smaller loads from the container.
In transit is the crane 16.97 meters long, 4 meters tall and 3 meters wide. The total mass of the crane in this configuration is about 92 tonnes.
