Terex AC 250-1
Pollisum
This attractive Terex AC 250-1 belongs to Pollisum from Singapore (SG) and was parked in a yard. It is a 250-tonne mobile telescopic crane mounted on a six-axle carrier.
The carrier is powered by an 8-cylinder diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz with an output of 450 kW (612 hp). This crane has the standard 12x8x10 drivetrain, where axles 2, 4, 5 and 6 are driven and axles 1 to 3, 5 and 6 are steerable.
In transport configuration the crane is 16.97 metres long, 2.98 metres wide and 3.989 metres high. The transport weight in this configuration is approximately 92 tonnes.
The seven-section main boom has a base length of 14.5 metres and extends six times to a maximum length of 80 metres. Optionally the main boom can be extended with a 10.420 metre long folding jib, this jib is hydraulically adjustable at an angle between 0 and 40 degrees.
The outrigger base measures 8.7 x 8.5 metres.
During transport on the road, 15 tonnes of ballast are carried on the carrier. The full ballast weighs 96.6 tonnes and has a turning radius of 5.6 metres.
At the time this was the largest telescopic crane in the fleet of Pollisum, nowadays that is a 600-tonne Sany SAC6000C8-8.
