The Terex Superlift 3800 of Neeb was used by the assembly of a wind turbine. The Terex Superlift 3800 is a 650 tonne crawler crane.
The superlift boom is 36 meters long and has a counter radius of 11 to 19 meters. The max. superlift counterweight is 325 tonnes.
The crane was here fitted with a 121 meter main boom. The boom can be extended up to 159 meters. This configuration is called LSL+LF_4. The fixed jib is 12 meters long and can be mounted in a 15 or 20 meter angle.
The crane itself is 10.4 meters wide with the 2 meter wide tracks. Between the crawler are 50 tonnes of counterweight mounted. The crane has two swing motors.
Fitted with 165 tonnes of counterweight, laying is chairs of each 2.5 tonnes. The max. counterweight is 225 tonnes. The counterweight has a 8.45 meter tailswing.
The large crawler tracs of the crane are 11.34 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1.74 meters heigh. The weight each is 42.4 tonnes in Qaudro execution (both sides with drive units). It is possible to mount additional outriggers to erect longer main booms without superlift boom.
Driven is the crane by a 6 cylinder diesel engine of type 6R1300. The engine supplies 523 hp and five hydraulic pumps are driven with it.
The Terex Superlift 3800 is a very popular crane to erect wind turbines. With a reinforced main boom is the crane able to build turbines with a 170 meter hub height.
Closing with a detail of the 12 meter long fixed jib. Over the jib are two hoist lines reefed, in total on 8 lines (2 x 4). A small runner on the jib is available for loads up to 18 tonnes.
