Maxikraft from Herzberg (DE) was using this sharp Terex Superlift 3800 to erect a Nordex N117/3600 wind turbine near Schwäbisch Gmund (DE).
Here are preparations taken to lift and install maybe the smallest component, the roof of the turbine house. The crane is working here with a 3-sheave hook can would be able to hoist maximum 123.5 tonnes.
The crane is assembled here in LSL+LF_3 configuration; a 144 meter long tapered main boom with a 12 meter fixed jib.
Once the roof has reached the correct height, the crane is driving forwards to position it on top of the turbine.
The superlift has a 36 meter length and has the Vario-SL option where the superlift counterweight is adjustable between 11 and 20.3 meters counterradius.
The undercarriage is 11.34 meters long and 10.4 meters wide. The tracks are 2 meters wide and have a mass of 39 tonnes each.
Fitted with 165 tonnes of counterweight, that is installed in 2.5 tonne supports. The full counnterweight is 225 tonnes. The counterweight has an 8.45 meter tailswing.
The adjustment winch of the main boom is fitted in the butt section of the superlift boom.
The crane is powered by a 6-cylinder MTU 6R1300 diesel engine with a power of 390 kW (523 hp). Between the tracks is in total 50 tonnes of central counterweight installed.
The length of the main boom can be extended by 3 meters to a maximum length of 147 meters. A sharp crane in the colours of Maxikraft!
