The Dufour company from Tournai (BE) is owning a big fleet of crawler cranes and almost all of them are used by the assembly of wind turbines. They are owning three of these Terex CC 2800-1 crawler cranes.
It is a 600 tonne crawler crane. The crane is 10.4 meters wide. The crane is powered by an OM 502 LA engine with 530 hp.
A wide crawler (with 2 meter plates) and two drives (Quadro drive) weights each 55 tonnes. They are 11.66 meters long and 1.685 meters height.
The pins for the boom rotation point are with hydraulics moveable. The crane has one slewmotor, in front is a small winch made to pull the heavy hoist line over the boom and trough the hook block.
The superlift boom is 30 meters long and has a working radius between 11 and 15 meters. The max. superlift counterweight is 300 tonnes.
The crane was here fitted with the max. superstructure counterweight of 180 tonnes, here existing out of 16 slabs of each 10 tonnes and a 20 tonne base plate. 180 tonnes of counterweight are only possible in combination with 60 tonnes of central counterweight. Without the central counterweight is only 160 tonnes of superstructure counterweight possible. The 10 tonne counterweight slabs are boxes filled with steel scrap.
Between the tracks are the 60 tonnes of central counterweight mounted. These slabs are massive and also have a 10 tonne mass, but are recognizable thinner.
The crane is here fitted in SSL/LSL+SGL_S7 configuration, short: 108 meters of tapered main boom.
