Here stood the sharp and impressive Sany SAC6000 of Hiap Tong from Singapore (SG) parked on their yard. It is a 600-tonne crane mounted on an 8-axle carrier.
The undercarriage is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 480 kW (653 hp). The axles 1, 2, 4, 5 and 8 are powered.
The seven-part main boom has a 17.1 meter base length and extendeds to a maximum length of 90 meters.
The boom is sticking out 2.85 meters in front of the cabin. A 3-sheave 80-tonne hook is reefed.
In transit is the crane 22.64 meters long, 3 meters wide and 4 meters tall.
The X-shaped outrigger base measures 10.8 x 10.8 meters.
The cabin on the superstructure is positioned behind the superstructure during transport over the road. During crane operation is a maximum of 165 tonnes of counterweight mounted here.
This crane doesn't have road registration and is towed over public roads.
Even when this is a 600-tonne crane, is the crane's lifting capacity in Singapore limited to 176 tonnes. In praxis are such maximum loads not that frequently happen, with the long main boom is this crane very suitable for the dismantling of tower cranes.
A very sharp and tough crane of Hiap Tong! They are owning two of these cranes, the other crane is deployed from their Malaysia branch.
A couple of days later I found the crane on a construction site, here is the crane working with a 56.2 meter main boom to lift a generator. The crane is fitted with the full counterweight of 165 tonnes. In this configuration is the crane able to hoist a maximum of 140 tonnes at 8 meter radius of 18 tonnes to a 50 meter radius.
