This Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 is Moh Seng from Singapore (SG) was hired for the dismantling of a tower crane. To reach the construction site at a university area was the crane required to take some challenging turns.
The smallest turning circle that the crane is able to make has a radius of 7.145 meters. The exit of the university is primary made for cars, the crane has to point a few times. The first four and last two axles are steerable.
At last a small roundabout, then the crane can reverse to the job site. The crane is in transit 21.4 meters long, 3 meters wide and 4 meters tall. The crane has a mass of 125 tonnes in this configuration.
A few hours later is the luffing jib almost configured.
The 8-axle carrier is powered by a Liebherr D9508 A7, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 500 kW (680 hp). The axles 1, 2, 4 and 5 are powered and the axles 1 to 4, 7 and 8 are steerable.
The outrigger base measures 10 x 9.6 meters.
Here was the crane fitted with 135 tonnes of counterweight, that exists out of seven plates with a 15 tonne mass, on top another two blocks with each a mass of 15 tonnes. The counterweight has a 6.6 meter tailswing.
The crane is fitted with a 42 meter long luffing jib. The luffing jib has a 21 meter base length and can be extended in 7 meter steps to a maximum length of 91 meters.
The crane is fitted in TY3N configuration, the main boom is extended to a 57.7 meter length and the gantries of the YSL super lift are each unfolded 42 degrees.
Here was a Terex Comedil CTL 340-24 dismantled. This tower crane was installed a while ago by the Terex AC 250-1 of Moh Seng.
The jib of the tower crane has a 45 meter length and weights about 8 tonnes.
