A police car, a tree and a crane on the street. Luckily nothing worse, but something festive; the erection of the may pole in Aitrach (DE).
Just like the Liebherr LTM 1040-3 of A. Kutter was the LTM 1070-4.2 also busy to erect may poles in various German villages, a tradition that is repeated annually. This crane was at that time quite new in Kutter's fleet. It is a used 70-tonne crane with year of manufacture 2008 that was previously operated by Wissel from Aschaffenburg (DE).
The maximum 50 meter long main boom is here extended 36.1 meters. The happy decorated pole weights around 3 tonnes. During the police blocks the road is the pole tilted.
The pole is installed in a re-usable foundation.
The outrigger base measures 8 x 6.3 meters.
The undercarriage is powered by a Liebherr 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 270 kW (367 hp). This crane is equipped with the optional 8x6-drive line, where the first axle is also driven.
From the cherry picker is the lifting gear removed, a good an safe manner.
The crane itself brings 10.7 tonnes with it, that has a 3.46 meter tailswing. The maximum counterweight weights 14.5 tonnes. To stay within the permissible axle loads is the remaining 3.8 tonnes of counterweight, that would fit geometrically on the undercarriage, not taken with the crane itself.
Packed is the crane 12.52 meters long, 2.55 meters wide and 3.8 meters high. The transport mass is around 48 tonnes.
At the rear of the crane is a large box for lifting gear made. The crane is mainly used for salvage work, see also the tow bars on top of the box with wooden sleepers.
A sharp and compact crane, the largest crane in A. Kutter's fleet!
