Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 - Feldmann
The largest crane that Feldmann from Bilten (CH) is deploying is this sharp Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1. The crane was introduces during the open day at their branch in Scherikon (CH).
It is a 450 tonne crane mounted on an 8-axle carrier.
The undercarriage is powered by a Liebherr 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 505 kW (686 hp). The axles 1, 2, 4 and 5 are powered, all axles are steerable.
The outrigger base of the crane measures 10.4 x 9.6 meters, or half 10.4 x 6.12 meters.
At the rear of the crane is a box mounted with some rigging and outrigger woods. In front of the crane are the 3 and 7-sheave hooks shown, good for 84.9 tonnes resp. 171.6 tonne safe working load. The crane is fitted with a 12.5-tonne hoist winch with 25 mm hoist rope.
The maximum counterweight is 134 tonnes, that exists out of a 10-tonne base plate, two 7-tonne slabs and in total 110 tonnes in slabs with 5 or 10 tonnes. The crane has VarioBallast, where the tailswing of the crane can be adjusted by a hydraulic system. The counterweight can be parked at 5, 6 or 7 meter tailswing, where the capacity of the crane is adjusted to the tailswing. Here vissible is the largest radius of 7 meters.
The main boom of the crane has a 16.1 meter base length and extends six times to a maximum length of 85 meters. The main boom is extended here 42.5 meters.
Here was the crane fitted with the full luffing jib with a lengh of 84 meters. In this configuration is the crane able to lift maximum 6.4 tonnes on a 36 meter radius or 4.2 tonnes to an 88 meter radius.
