This sharp Liebherr LR 1600/2 of Al Faris from Dubai (AE) stood together with the Liebherr LR 1350/1 of BOB Cranes on a large construction site for the installation of heavy precast concrete elements on large radius.
It is a 600-tonne crawler crane. Al Faris is operating crawler cranes up to 1,000 tonnes and telescopic cranes to 1,200 tonnes and is one of the largest crane rental companies in Dubai.
The crane is powered by a Liebherr D946 A7, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 400 kW (544 hp). The undercarriage is 10.96 meters long and 10.4 meters wide.
A single track is 10.96 meters long, 1.9 meters tall and 2 meters wide. The transport mass for a single track is 38 tonnes.
The central counterweight is in total 65 tonnes, 32.5 tonnes per side. The counterweight exists per side out of three 10-tonne slabs in a 2.5-tonne frame.
The crane was erected here wth 150 tonnes of counterweight on the superstructure. The counterweight exists out of fourteen slabs of each 10 tonnes in frames with each 5 tonnes. The tailswing of the counterweight is 8.01 meters.
Interesting is the large counterweight wagon behind the crane that is attached to the derrick boom. The counterweight wagen is following the superstructure and has a variable counterradius between 13 and 18 meters. The two large jacks in the centre are used to unload the wheels in the parking position and during turning of the wheels.
Here is 60 tonnes of counterweight stacked on the wagon, the maximum is 350 tonnes. The wagen has a self-weight of 46 tonnes.
The derrick boom has a 30 meter length.
The adjustment winch for the main boom is installed in the boom foot of the derrick boom. The adjustment winch for the luffing jib is installed in the boom foot of the main boom.
Here stood the crane erected in HSDWBW configuration with a 36 meter main boom and an 84 meter luffing jib.
A very sharp crane of Al Faris!
