Tieman Kraanverhuur from Schagen (NL) is using this sharp Grove GMK4080-1 as replacer of the Liebherr LTM 1050-3.1. I could photograph the crane on a narrow construction site in Sint Pancras (NL).
It is an 80 tonne crane on a 4 axle undercarriage. The mass of the crane is 48 tonnes. The crane is 12.53 meters long, 2.55 meters wide and 3.85 meters height.
The crane has a Mercedes-Benz OM501LA, 6-cylindre diesel engine with 389 hp. The crane is driven and operated with this engine. Below the cabin is a small rack made for the smaller round outrigger pads.
The outrigger base measures 8.1 x 7 or 8.1 x 6 or 8.1 x 5 meters.
The crane has a 51 meter main boom, here is 31.4 meters extended. With a double folding jib with 8.7 or 15 meters length is an hookheight of about 67 meters reached. The jib is tiltable under 0, 20 or 40 degrees. To safe weights the folding jib is not taken by the crane self.
The crane is driving with 14.3 tonnes of counterweight, 7.5 tonnes are taken on the undercarriage and the other 6.8 tonnes on the upperstructure. The missing counterweights to make the 19.3 tonnes complate are taken on a trailer. The tailswing is 3.53 meters.
At the rear of the crane are hanging 3 big storage boxes for lifting tools, above are laying 4 big aluminium outrigger pads. To take the trailer with counterweight with the crane a big coupling is made between the boxes.
The red and yellow are based on the city colors of Schagen.
The crane was concreting the foundation of the building with a concrete tub.
In the meantime Tieman is also working with a Spierings SK599-AT5 now, together with some other mobile tower cranes. The Grove is the only telescopic crane.
