This attractive Grove GMK6300L belongs to Hiap Tong from Singapore (SG). It is a 300-tonne crane mounted on a 6-axle carrier.

The carrier is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 405 kW (551 hp). This crane is equipped with the optional 12x8x12 drivetrain, where axles 1, 4, 5 and 6 are driven. All axles are steerable.

In transport configuration this crane is 17.58 metres long, 3 metres wide and 4 metres high. The transport weight is then approximately 80 tonnes.

This is the first Grove GMK6300L that was sold to Singapore, in 2012. Many more would follow later.

The outrigger base measures 8.7 x 8.5 metres.

Here the crane was deployed with 54.5 tonnes of ballast, this ballast can be increased to 92.5 tonnes using two 10-tonne blocks and two 9-tonne blocks. The ballast has a turning radius of 5.5 metres. The crane is equipped with a 9.5-tonne hoist winch.

The seven-section main boom has a base length of 15.58 metres and extends six times to a maximum length of 80 metres. Optionally, the main boom can be extended with a 12 or 21 metre long folding jib. Here the Grove was deployed as an assist crane for a larger mobile crane.
