The GVB (Gemeenteveroersbedrijf = city transportation company) is using this sharp Grove GCK 3045 for maintenance to their tracks in and around Amsterdam (NL). The crane is mainly used at night after operation hours. The crane was here on the yard for some service.
It is a 3-axle city crane that was developed in cooperation with Kobelco, this explains the typical asian looking rectangular boom. During the transport over the road is the crane 9.07 meters long, 2.13 meters wide and 3.09 meter high. The mass is around 36 tonnes.
The outrigger base measures 6.94 x 6.47 meters. The crane has a 6x6x6-drive line.
The counterweight is in the superstructure integrated. The tailswing of the superstructure is 3.21 meters. The crane is powered by a HINO E 13 C, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 330 kW.
The hoist winch is installed on top of the base section of the main boom. The hoist winch has a 16 mm hoist cable with a maximum line pull of 4 tonnes.
The main boom has a 7.9 meter base length and extends five times to a total length of 34 meters. Interesting is also the 0 degree boom position, where the boom is nearly horizontal. The crane can lift then on approx. 31 meter radius still 1.05 tonnes, ideally for working below the power lines!
