Fahrenholz from Bremen (DE) is owning this tough Grove GMK7450 that was used here by the assembly of a tower crane, together with the Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1.
It is the biggest telescopic crane built by Grove with a 450 tonne capacity (or 550 US tons). The crane weights 84 tonnes.
The undercarriage is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM502LA, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with 571 hp. With them are 4 of the 7 axles driven.
The main boom is 16 meters long and extendable up to 60 meters, extendable by a fixed jib of 70 meters long or a 79 meter luffing jib.
Packed is the crane 19.62 long, 3 meters wide and 3.9 meters heigh. A travelspeed of 85 km/h can be reached in the highest gear of the Allison 4800 SP automatic transmission.
In the superstructure is laying a Mercedes-Benz OM906LA with 279 hp.
The rear outriggers can be removed and exchanged by a trailing axle. When the axles loads are permitted than can be driven with the rear outriggers.
Here the crane is assembling itself. Together with the LTM 1500-8.1, the crane will lift the jib of a Krøll K5000S tower crane in tandemlift in the harbour of Vegesack (DE).
Put up with 120 tonnes of counterweight, that is the max. with the main boom. Between the upper two counterweight slabs is the adjustment winch for the luffing jib mounted. When the Megalift boom guying is used, the counterweight can be increased up to 160 tonnes.
The outrigger base measures 8.76 x 8.9 meters, or half, 8.76 x 6.1 meters.
