FAUN ATF 220G-5
Hiap Heng
This fine and rugged FAUN ATF 220G-5 belongs to Hiap Heng from Singapore (SG) and was parked at their yard. It is a 220-tonne mobile crane mounted on a 5-axle carrier, built in 2008.
The 5-axle carrier is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 390 kW (530 hp). Axles 1, 2, 4 and 5 are driven and steerable. The third axle can be lifted.
This crane does not carry a registration plate and therefore has to be towed between destinations by means of a towing vehicle.
The outrigger base measures 9.045 x 8.3 metres, or 9.045 x 5.6 metres when half extended.
In transport condition, the crane is 15.1 metres long, 3 metres wide and 3.94 metres high. The transport weight of the crane as shown here is approximately 75 tonnes.
During transport on public roads, 12 tonnes of ballast is carried on the carrier.
A maximum of 71 tonnes of ballast can be mounted on the superstructure; the ballast has a swing radius of 4.98 metres. The crane is equipped with a 10-tonne hoist winch.
At the time, this was the largest crane in the fleet of Hiap Heng; nowadays, that position is held by a 350-tonne XCMG.
The seven-section main boom has a base length of 13.2 metres and telescopes six times to a maximum length of 68 metres. Optionally, the main boom can be extended with a jib of up to 37.2 metres. The crane itself can carry a 13.2-metre jib.
The superstructure is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 906 LA, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 138 kW (188 hp).
