During an early morning in the German city of Gelsenkirchen (DE) we found this Gottwald AK 450/83 of Franz Bracht from Erwitte (DE), it is the crane with fleet number 020, that still have to be moved and needs to be finished.
Next to it was the other AK 450/83 of Bracht erected, the crane with fleet number 001. This crane is prepared for some action.
The night before has the load arrived to site by a girder bridge of Baumann from Bonn (DE). It is a cable reel with a mass of 362 tonnes.
After the cable reel is unloaden and the girder bridge is disassambled, the "020" drives next to the "001" and can be finished.
When the last parts of the girder bridge are hoisted away, the last counterweight slab is stacked onto the "020".
The load is attached to the hooks.
Both cranes are fitted with a 30 meter main boom and 153 tonnes of counterweight.
The reel is swinged through both the cranes.
This was the fourth time both crane were doing a tandem lift.
The reel is loaded into a ship and the destination is Heerema's yard in Flushing (NL).
A detail of the different assembled main booms.
The half outrigger base measures 10.5 x 10.5 meters.
Directly after the reel was loaded the cranes are disassembled.
