Dismantling of a gantry crane by Bok Seng

Bok Seng from Singapore (SG) deployed both of its Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 cranes in identical configuration to dismantle a gantry crane.

Both cranes are attached to the main girder. This girder has a weight of approximately 30 tonnes.

The first crane is the LTM 1200-5.1 built in 2013. The crane is erected with 32 tonnes of ballast and the main boom is telescoped here to a length of 31.3 metres.

The second crane is the LTM 1200-5.1 built in 2007. This crane is erected in exactly the same configuration as the other crane.

The main girders are mounted to the legs with a bolted connection. To prevent the legs from toppling over later, they are guyed to heavy concrete blocks. The gantry crane will be reassembled again at another factory site.

The outrigger base measures 8.9 x 8.3 metres.

The top girder has been separated from the legs and is suspended in both cranes, with each crane lifting approximately 15 tonnes. The girder is moved between the cranes.

The top girder is loaded onto a ready-standing Goldhofer THP transporter.

The Goldhofer THP has driven axles powered by a power pack with 207 kW (280 hp).

The transporter will move the top girder to another location on the factory site to be unloaded. An impressive operation by Bok Seng!
