This sharp Western Star 5800 SS of Crane Contractors from Sydney (AU) was used to transport components of a Favelle Favco M120RX tower crane to the construction site. The combination exists out of a 3-axle truck with a 3-axle trailer.
The truck is powered by a Detroit DD15, a 14.8 liter 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power between 475 to 560 hp. Both rear axles are powered.
On both sides are behind the front axle the 378 liter diesel tanks installed, behind two compressed-air tanks. The truck weights about 9 tonnes and has a maximum gross vehicle mass of 27.4 tonnes.
The truck is fitted with a 34" Stratosphere sleeper cabine. Optionally are larger cabins available.
Attached is a 3-axle Freigther semi trailer, the trailer has a mass of 7.9 tonnes and has a maximum loaded mass of 38 tonnes.
The boom section of the Favelle Favco M120RX is 9.2 meters long, 1.7 meters wde, 1,81 meters tall and weights about 1.08 tonnes.
