To transport a Liebherr LB 16 drilling rig of Kurt Motz from the construction site to the next project was Max Wild from Berkheim (DE) using a 4-axle Volvo FH16 580 with 7-axle semi low loader. In the past was Max Wild also operating a 5-axle version of the FH16 580.
The drilling rig can drive by itself onto the low loader by using the ramps that are attached at the rear of the trailer.
The truck is powered by a Volvo D16E, a 16.1-liter diesel engine with 580 hp. The truck has a 8x4-drive line, where both rear axles are powered.
Behind the cabin are the large diesel tank, storage compartments, the hydraulic oil tank and multiple compressed-air tanks installed. The diesel tank has two openings, so it can be tanked from both sides. Behind the front axle are the muffler and the AdBlue tank installed.
Attached is a 7-axle Goldhofer STZ-MPA7 semi low loader. The LB 16 is during the transport over the road 15.36 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 3.4 meters high. The transport mass is around 38 tonnes.
