Holtrop & Van der Vlist from Assen (NL) is using four of these Volvo FH 500 trucks with 8x2-drive. Holtrop & Van der Vlist was also partly responsible for the development of these trucks, they are mainly used between Netherlands and Germany.
The truck is powered by a Volvo D13B, a 12.8-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine with 500 hp.
Behind the front axle are the AdBlue tank and a storage box installed. On the other side is the muffler installed.
Behind the cabin are the diesel tank, storage compartments and the compressed-air tanks installed.
The base was a Volvo FH 500 with 6x2 drive line and a fixed liftable pusher axle was added. The truck is allowed for a maximum weight of 35 tonnes.
Attached is a 3 axle Nooteboom Euro 55-03 low loader, this combination may load 50 tonnes of cargo.
The cargo is a Liebherr LH 40 C Industry for Japan. The mobile material handler is 12.65 meters long, 3 meters wide and 3.65 meters high. The transport mass is 36.75 tonnes.
A very beautiful and clever combination!
