Volvo FH16 700

Borger Cranes

These two fine Volvo FH16 700 trucks belong to Borger Cranes and are deployed from their branch in Pinkenba (AU), mainly to transport crane ballast. Here, the combinations are standing empty on the construction site, ready to be loaded with crane ballast.

The first truck is travelling with a 3-axle semi-trailer.

It is a fine Volvo FH16 700 with 6x4 drive. This truck is powered by a Volvo D16G700, a 16.1-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 515 kW (700 hp). These trucks were produced at the Volvo factory in Wacol (AU).

Behind the front axle, large diesel tanks are mounted on both sides, each with a capacity of approximately 600 litres. The large Euro 5 exhaust system is mounted behind the cab.

Being hauled is a 3-axle TRT trailer with rigid axles. Lifting points are mounted on top of the frame so that the crane ballast can be loaded quickly.

The second combination consists of an identical truck with a 3-axle TRT high-bed semi-trailer with rigid axles. This trailer will be loaded with part of the ballast, the outrigger mats and some accessories.

The first combination carries three ballast plates weighing 10 tonnes each. This crane ballast belongs to a Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1.

The second combination carries a total of 22 tonnes of crane ballast, four large outrigger mats and a 3-sheave hook for the Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1.

Quickly back to the yard! Two fine combinations from Borger Cranes!
