In October 2021, Bok Seng from Singapore (SG) carried out a major transport operation. A large E-House for a refinery had been constructed in a port area and had to be driven onto a barge.

For the transport, Bok Seng deployed two 34-axle SPMTs. The axles are not primarily required for the weight, but for constant support of the load, as the cargo must not bend.

Theoretically, these axles could move more than 2,700 tonnes in total. In this case, the load weighs only approximately 271 tonnes.

Bok Seng operates approximately 300 SPMT axle lines from Scheuerle and deploys them in several countries across Asia. With the SPMT axle lines, height differences of up to 700 mm can be compensated.

Time to set the entire assembly in motion. The two Scheuerle Z350DA PPU (Power Pack Unit) units begin to warm up.

First, the transport moves forward slightly so that the rear supports can be removed.

This transport is approximately 48 meters long, 10 meters wide and 8 meters high.

This concerns only a short transport to move the E-House from its fabrication position to the quay. Later that evening, at the appropriate water level, the transport would drive onto a large barge.

No matter how large the port area is, there is always something in the way that makes the transport more challenging. Here, careful manoeuvring around several bollards was required.

After overcoming the minor obstacle, the transporter can be positioned for loading onto the barge.

Here, the transporter is properly positioned for the load-out. However, this would take place later in the evening and unfortunately could not be attended. An impressive transport operation by Bok Seng!
