Transport of cold boxes by Bok Seng

On a saturday morning are multiple cold boxes delivered to Bok Seng in Singapore (SG). These are transported by ship to a port in Singapore and by barge to the quay of Bok Seng's yard. We are going to witness the unloading from barge.

The components will be driven by own SPMT systems from the barge onto the quay. The PPU (Power Pack Unit) ist warming up.

Slowly is the first transport taking off.

The first component is driven on a 12-axle Scheuerle SPMT. The SPMT is composed out of two 6-axle modules.

The power supply comes from a Scheuerle Z350DA power pack with a power of 350 kW.

The first cold box is 20.4 meters long, 5.25 meters wide and 4.15 meters tall. The mass is 85 tonnes.

The second transport starts to move now.

This SPMT has 22 axles.

Heigth differences of maximum 700 mm are compensated.

This cold box is 37.8 meters long, 5.6 meters wide and 4.25 meters tall. The mass is 135 tonnes.

This SPMT is composed out of three 6-axle modules and one 4-axle module. The theoretical loading capacity of this transporter is 880 tonnes.

All wheels are 360 degrees steerable, the transporter is very flexible.

In the meantime it starts to rain, not a reason to stop the work! The barge must be unloaded today because the tides is the water surface raising or lowering.

This cold box will be lowered onto supports. Bok Seng has developed a sharp modular system for this.

We continue with the third cold box!

This SPMT has 18 axles and is composed out of three 6-axle modules. In total has Bok Seng 300 SPMT axles in use.

This cold box is 27.95 meters long, 5.85 meters wide and 4.25 meters tall. The mass is 100 tonnes.

Also this cold box will be stored on supports.

The 22-axle SPMT will be used again to drive a second cargo from the barge.

This cargo is a piping box, the cargo is 31.8 meters long, 4.7 meters wide and 3.7 meters tall. The total mass of this cargo is 56 tonnes.

The last cargo to be driven from the barge is this column box.

Here is an 18-axle SPMT in use, but 7 axles are lifted.

This the the largest and heaviest cargo, the column box is 38.1 meters long, 4.7 meters wide and 4.15 meters tall. The total mass is 150 tonnes.

A very sharp job, performed by the professionals of Bok Seng!

These components will be stored temporary on Bok Seng's yard and in the future driven over the road to the construction site.
