Scania 143 E 500 - Hup Hin
This sharp and tough Scania 143 E 500 of Hup Hin from Johor Bahru (MY) brought a heavy cable reel to Singapore (SG). The combination exists out of a 3-axle truck with a 7-axle trailer.
The Scania 143 E 500 is powered by a Scania DSC14, a 14-liter 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 373 kW (500 hp). This truck has a 6x4-drive line where both rear axles are powered.
Behind the front axle are the battery and compressed-air tanks mounted.
The Scania 3-series were produced between 1987 and 1998 and is on those photos (2019) minimum 21 years old and still in daily use.
Attached is a 7-axle trailer with rigid axles. The last two axles are liftable because the Singaporean axle limits are not that strict as in Malaysia.
The cable reel has a total mass of approx. 55 tonnes. The trailer can load approx. 60 tonnes.
