Westdijk from Alphen a/d Rijn (NL) was using this very sharp Mercedes-Benz Actros 4165 to transport the base of a Liebherr crawler crane from the factory to the port. The combination stood here along the motorway near Hockenheim (DE) because this transport is because of the dimensions and mass only allowed to drive at night.
The truck is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, a 15.9-liter 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 480 kW (653 hp). The truck has an 8x4-drive line where only the two rear axles are driven.
Behind the front axle are the muffler and a storage compartment made. Between the rear axles are also smaller storage compartments made.
Behind the cabin are the large dieseltank, the hydraulic oil tank, compressed-air tanks, batteries and a large cooler for the VIAB turbo coupling, nicely covered by the flaps on both sides. In front of the dieseltank are another two smaller storage compartments made.
The front bumper is reinforced and has a coupling to push trailers.
Attached is a 7-axle Broshuis 2+5 ABSD-SL semi low loader.
The trailer has a maximum loading capacity of 64 tonnes and is between the second and third axle maximum 13.65 meters extendable.
The cargo is the central part of the undercarriage of a Liebherr LR 11000. The cargo is 8.65 meters long, 3.5 meters wide and 3.44 meters tall. The mass is 60 tonnes. The cargo was on the move to the port of Galveston (TX) and is for Buckner.
A very sharp combination by Westdijk!
