Two sharp Mercedes-Benz Actros 2660 of Glass from Mindelheim (DE) on a short coffee break along the highway 7. Both combinations are configuraed and loaded the same.
The truck is a Mercedes-Benz Actros 2660 with 6x4-drive line. The truck is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, a 15.9-liter V8-diesel engine with 598 hp.
Behind the front axle are the AdBlue- and diesel tank installed. Between the mudguards of the rear axles are also smaller storage compartments made.
On the other side are behind the front axle the muffler, a storage compartment, the battery and two compressed-air tanks installed. Behind the cabin is in the centre the hydraulic oil tank installed and behind the drivers' seat a storage compartment. A sharp detail is the reinforcement frame above the tank and storage compartment. Both trucks have a tow coupling to tow the dolly on an empty ride.
Both trucks are pulling a 5-axle Doll dolly with in total four steerable axles.
The combinations are both loaded with precast concrete beams (from Glass' production) and on the move to a new Mercedes-Benz factory near Stuttgart (DE). The beams are in the front directly loaded on a frame on the fifth-wheel and at the rear on the dolly. The dolly is attached by steel cables to the truck, so the load isn't loaded on tension.
The first two and the last two axles of the Doll dolly are steerable.
The break is over - on the move to the construction site. A sharp duo by Glass which operates a large Mercedes-Benz fleet for the transport of precast elements!
