This impressive combination of Gertzen from Kluse (DE) stood parked along the German motorway A61. The combination exists out of a 4-axle truck with a 10-axle trailer.
The truck is a 4-axle Mercedes-Benz Actros 4163 with 8x4-drive line. The truck is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 473 LA, a 15.6 liter 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 460 kW (625 hp).
Behind the front axle is the large Euro 6 muffler installed.
Behind the cabine are the large diesel tank, hydraulic oil tank, battery, storage compartments and compressed-air tanks mounted.
Attached is a 10-axle version of the Nooteboom Mega Windmill Transporter.
The front part of the trailer exists out of a 3-axle jeep dolly that is attached to the truck. Optionally is it also possible to use a 4-axle jeep dolly for more loadings capacity.
The rear part of the trailer exists out of a 7-axle dolly. The cargo is a tower section of a wind turbine with a diameter of approx. 4 meters.
On the 3-axle jeep dolly and the 7-axle dolly are lift adapters installed. The cargo can be picked-up from the ground by use of these adapters and is approx. 1.5 meters in height adjustable. There is no crane required anymore for the loading or unloading for the trailer.
Gertzen is deploying multiple units of these Mercedes-Benz Actros 4163 trucks in their fleet.
A very sharp and impressive combination!
