A Putzmeister M 52-5 concrete pump on a 5 axle Mercedes-Benz Actros 5051 chassis of Faber Betonpompen from Zoeterwoude (NL) on a large construction site in Amsterdam (NL).
Because a concrete pump doesn't have any counterweight, the stability comes from the large outrigger base. The outrigger base of this pump is 10.4 x 10.4 meters with a maximum vertical force of 350 kN (about 35 tonnes).
The rear axle is a not-driven steerable axle. This axle is requited for a better load spreading, this truck weights about 50 tonnes. Because it is a "driving machine" no rear bumper is required.
The concrete pump has a 160 cubic meter per hour capacity and pumps the concrete with 85 bar into the boom.
The boom exists out of 5 parts with a Z construction. Due to this Z construction the unfolding height is very narrow. The boom has a vertical reach of 52 meters, a horizontal reach of 48.1 meters and a maximum depth can be reached of 38.1 meters.
The Actros 5051 is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, a 15.9 liter V8 diesel engine with 510 hp. In total are 3 of the 5 axles driven, the front axle and the axles 3 and 4.
