Mercedes-Benz Actros 4160 - Bau-Trans
Bau-Trans from Lauterach (AT) owns multiple Mercedes-Benz Actros 4160 heavy haulage trucks. This truck stood parked along the Motorway 6 near Nürberg (DE).
The truck is almost identical with the other Actros 4160 of Bau-Trans with 8x4-drive line. There is another Actros 4160 with 8x6-drive line.
At the rear of the chassis is the heavy Rockinger coupling attached.
Behind the cab are the large diesel tank, hydraulic oil tank, compressed-air tanks, the battery and the cooler for the WSK 400 torque converter installed. Behind the front axle are the AdBlue tank and the air filter installed.
Bau-Trans is part of the Felbermayr group and slowly the company is converting the colours of the equipment. The truck is still in the original Bau-Trans colours, the trailer is already coloured is the recognizable Felbermayr blue.
The truck is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, a 15.9-liter V8-diesel engine with 600 hp. Behind the front axle is on this side the AdBlue tank installed. Attached to the bumper is a register coupling, so that transport can be pushed also.
The muffler is installed behind the front axle.
Attached is an 8-axle Goldhofer low loader in 3-bed-5 configuration.
The cargo is this sharp Liebherr LRB 255 piling- and drilling rig with destination Russia. The rig is 22 meters long, 3.5 meters wide and 3..95 meters high, the transport mass is around 70 tonnes.
