MAN TGA 33.480 - Lima Bintang
This sharp MAN TGA 33.480 belongs to Lima Bintang from Johor Bahru (MY) and was used to deliver a large cable reel to Singapore (SG). The combination exists out of a 3-axle truck with an 8-axle trailer.
The truck is powered by a MAN D2676, a 12.4-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 353 kW (480 hp). This truck has a 6x4-drive line, where both rear axles are powered and only the front axle is steerable.
Behind the front axle are the battery and a few compressed-air tanks mounted. On the other side is the dieseltank mounted.
On top of the driven rear axles is the heavy ballast box mounted.
The truck is fitted with a reinforced bumper with trailer coupling so that the truck can be used to manouvre trailers or to push/brake heavy transports.
Attached is an 8-axle Goldhofer THP/SL trailer. The trailer is composed out of two 4-axle modules.
The cargo is a heavy cable reel, fitted with 814 meters of 154 mm hoist wire rope that will be used in the offshore environment. The reel has a total mass of 79.6 tonnes.
