This impressive Woltman THW A-1100 HPDR was used by Ballast Nedam from Nieuwegein (NL) on a large job site in Amsterdam (NL). At that time this was one of the largest piling rigs working in the Netherlands.
At this piling rig are the tracks removed for the transport over the road. This piling rig has a total operational mass of approx. 200 tonnes.
On this job site are multiple precast concrete piles 50 centimetre square with lengths up to 38 meters and a mass of 23 tonnes driven into the ground. A heavy diesel hammer was used on this job.
The gantry is used to erect shorter leader lengths, for the maximum leader lengths is an assist crane required.
Attached to the superstructure are two very heavy outriggers that take care of stability backwards. This rig can adjust it's leader 1:1 backwards and 3:1 forwards.
In the superstructure are seven winches mounted.
In the leader is hanging a Pileco D100-13 diesel hammer. The hammer has a total mass of approx. 22.1 tonnes and a piston of 10 tonnes. The maximum energy per blow is approx. 334 kNm.
These photos are taken in 2009.
The maximum length of the leader is 51 meters.
A very sharp and impressive piling rig of Ballast Nedam!
