Soilmec SR-75

Presscrete

Not one, but two Soilmec SR-75 drilling rigs were deployed by Presscrete from Singapore (SG) for Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) on a major civil engineering project in Singapore. These foundation machines have an operating weight of approximately 75 tonnes.

In Deep Soil Mixing, a rotating tool is inserted into the ground. Once the required depth has been reached, a grout suspension is pumped into the ground via the tool. This grout is then mixed with the soil, also while the tool is being withdrawn. In this way, individual columns or large stabilised blocks are formed in the ground.

The carrier is 5.544 metres long and 4.929 metres wide. For transport on public roads, the width can be reduced to 2.98 metres. 9 tonnes of ballast are mounted on the superstructure, which has a swing radius of 4.31 metres.

Here, mixing was carried out to a depth of approximately 19 metres.

The machines are powered by a Cummins X12, an 11.8-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 336 kW (450 hp).

Suspended in the leader is an RD280 rotary drive; it weighs 4.3 tonnes and has a maximum torque of 293 kNm.

The leader has a maximum height of approximately 25.7 metres.

A few weeks later, both machines were still busy mixing. Two fine machines from Presscrete!
