This sharp Delmag RH 34 of Grundbau Bohrtechnik Spezialtiefbau (short: GBS) from Aschaffenburg (DE) was used on a construction project along the German motorway 8 near Denkendorf (DE) to drill piles. This drilling rig has an operational weight of approx. 104 tonnes and the leader has a maximum height of 26.5 meters.
The undercarriage of the rig is 6.09 meters long and 4.8 meters wide. The tracks are each 0.9 meters wide. For the transport over the road can the breadth be reduced to 3.5 meters. The rig has a transport mass of approx. 75.6 tonnes.
The base machine is called T102D and is powered by a Scania DC13, a 12.7-liter diesel engine with a power of 405 kW (550 hp). The engine powers four hydraulic pumps.
The rig has a 2-part counterweight with a total mass of 13.5 tonnes and a tailswing of 4.3 meters.
In the leader is hanging a BT 340D rotary head with a mass of 7.95 tonnes and a torque of 340 kNm. Attached to the feet of the leader are three winches, two for the movement of the rotary head along the leader and an auxilairy winch.
This rig can be used for different drilling methods and pile driving with a hammer. A long time, this was the largest Delmag-rig available, nowadays that is a Delmag RH 40.
