This interesting XCMG QY55BY belongs to Beng Huat from Singapore (SG). It is a 55-ton crane mounted on a 4-axle carrier. The crane was built in 2016.

The 4-axle carrier is powered by a Wechai WP10, a 9.7-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 276 kW (370 hp). The two rear axles are driven and the two front axles are steerable. The crane can reach a maximum speed of 80 km/h on the highway, provided it is legally permitted.

In transport configuration the crane is 14.2 metres long, 2.79 metres wide and 3.57 metres high. The total weight is approximately 41.7 tonnes.

The outrigger base measures 5.91 x 6.9 metres, or half 5.91 x 4.7 metres.

A counterweight of 4.5 tonnes is fixed to the superstructure. The crane is equipped with two 5-ton hoist winches.

The five-section main boom has a base length of 11.3 metres and extends to a maximum length of 42.7 metres. Optionally, the main boom can be extended by a 6.9 to 14.5-metre jib. This jib can be mounted to the main boom at an angle of 5 or 15 degrees. The hooks are carried on the carrier during road transport.

A fifth outrigger is installed at the front of the chassis; only when this outrigger is set on the ground does the crane have a load chart that is deployable over 360 degrees.

An impressive crane from Beng Huat!
