A Weserhütte SW 530 heavy duty crane in a gravel pit near Munich (DE). In total 5 of these cranes were produced, this crane has production number 3.
It is one of the largest heavy duty cranes still active in Germany, this crane is used approx. once a week. In Germany is production number 2 also used as a dragline. The other cranes are in China, Eastern Europe and the United States.
The crane is powered by a Caterpillar D3412-T, a watercooled V12 diesel engine with 563 hp. The diesel tank has a 2,000 liter volume.
The Weserhütte SW 530 was presented for the first time at the 1977 Bauma show in Munich (DE).
The crane has 20 tonnes of counterweight with a 7.2 meter tailswing.
The last SW 530 was produced in 1989.
The bucket has a volume of 6.1 cubic meters.
A detail of the fairlead, the SW 530 has 38 mm pull- and hoist cables on the drums. The line pull is 30.5 tonnes.
The tracks are 8.26 meters long and 1.2 meters wide.
As a dragline the long boom head with singe pully (diameter 1,088 mm) used. The base length is 24 meters (base- and head section), the maximum boom length is 72 meters. This crane is used with a 36 meter main boom.
