Tadano ATF 160G-5

Hiap Tong

This attractive Tadano ATF 160G-5 belongs to Hiap Tong from Singapore (SG) and was parked in their yard. It is a 160-tonne crane mounted on a 5-axle carrier.

The 5-axle carrier is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 390 kW (530 hp). Axles 1, 2, 4 and 5 are driven and steerable. The third axle is liftable.

The crane is 15.25 metres long, 3 metres wide and 3.99 metres high. The transport weight is approximately 72 tonnes.

The six-section main boom has a base length of 13.2 metres and extends five times to a maximum length of 60 metres. Optionally, the main boom can be extended by means of a 13.2 metre long jib. The jib can be mechanically mounted to the main boom at an angle of 0, 20 or 40 degrees.

The outrigger base measures 9 x 8.3 metres, or half 9 x 5.6 metres.

During transport on the road, a 12-tonne ballast plate is carried on the carrier. The total ballast weighs 51 tonnes and has a turning radius of 4.85 metres.

The crane is equipped with an 8.5-tonne hoist winch with 21 mm hoisting rope. Outrigger pads are carried in a frame on the carrier.
